Anne Woodford is a local Seattleite raised on Bainbridge Island with a passion for creating art. From an early age, Anne gravitated towards the arts, taking up painting and drawing, as well as fiber art. She has a BA from the University of Washington in Cultural Anthropology/Political Science with a minor in Fine Arts. Upon graduating from the UW, she managed The Legacy, an art gallery, specializing in Native American Art for 10 years. It was during her time working alongside Northwest Coast tribes preserving their art and cultural integrity that the importance of passing along the history, interweaving of generations, and passion for life as displayed in art was instilled. When she decided to have children, she left the gallery, but not her love for creating art. Anne has taught painting classes for the last 14+ years and is a self-taught chalkboard artist. She is currently drawing upon her travels as inspiration for her paintings. She has recently rediscovered textile painting and looks forward to holding workshops in that medium.
Available for private painting commissions as well as mural and chalkboard work.
